So, it's done. The Progressive Supper was a success! There were approximately 35 people there. There was so much laughing, talking, teasing, and story telling. Our church is like a great big family. There is a mixture of members who love the limelight, and those who are totally content with fading into the background. There are weird ones, animated ones, sheepish ones, and great story tellers and great audiences. Just like every family.
The meal was wonderful. Each course had its own "flavor," if you will. Appetizers consisted of shrimp cocktail, smoked cheese ball, a variety of crackers, chips and dips, dried fruit, BBQ Lil' Smokies, chicken nuggets, veggies, and punch along with several other soft drinks.
Soups were: Cheeseburger Soup, Venison Stew, and Chicken Noodle Soup. The Cheeseburger Soup was all the rage. Tom made it and promised the recipe to several people.
Salad had all the "fixin's" one could imagine. And all the dressings under the sun were offered.
The Entree was Stuffed Baked Potatoes. Toppings were butter, sour cream, smoked brisket, shredded cheese, bacon bits, and corn and green beans on the side.
Desserts were exquisite, as usual. Checkerboard Red Velvet cake, White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake, chocolate brownie/caramel cheesecake, Pumpkin Dump Cake, and Pecan Pie.
We got done about 11:00 PM tired and full to the brim. I am convinced Pat had a fab time! And, for your viewing pleasure:
